The Business of Reentry
On November 18, 2005, Rhode Island PBS, in conjunction with Making Connections Providence, the Family Life Center, Rhode Island Department of Corrections, and the Roger Williams University School of Justice Studies aired The Business of Reentry. The public information forum was planned to discusse employment opportunities for formerly incarcerated Rhode Islanders. The panel featured local economic development, employment and training, community, and business leaders.
The panelists included:
- Peter Wells, Moderator, President, RI Family Life Center Board of Directors
- Ronald Caniglia – Owner, The Stand Corporation (Business owner who hires formerly incarcerated employees)
- Karen Carson, Administrative Assistant, The Stand Corporation (former client of the Family Life Center)
- Ronn Fortes – Executive Assistant, RI Family Life Center
- Adelita Orefice – Director, RI Department of Labor and Training
- Steve Vadnais, Compliance Director, Rhode Island Department of Planning and Development
